Ron Gallas has spent a lifetime
creating expressions from clay; his figurative images can
be found in exhibitions, installations, and private
collections across America.
Ron's works have been featured in countless publications, including: "The Craft and Art of Clay; Low Fire Ceramics: A New Direction in American Clay", "Salt Glazed Ceramics", "GRAPHIS", "The History of American Ceramics", and "500 Figures in Clay." Awards include a National Endowment for the Arts Apprenticeship Grant, a National Endowment for the Arts Craftsmen's Fellowship, a Ford Foundation Faculty Enrichment Grant, and a Ford Foundation Matching Funds Grant. Mr. Gallas has devoted himself to the arts conducting workshops and lectures at universities and art centers throughout the Midwestern U.S. Teaching experience includes positions at Pennsylvania State University (University Park, Pennsylvania); Macalester College (St. Paul, Minnesota); and St. Olaf College (Northfield, Minnesota) where he is currently an Associate Professor of Art.
